Mani Ratnam’s magnum opus ‘Raavanan’ in Tamil has passed the censors board with a clean ‘U’ certificate. Mani Ratnam was more than relieved as some of his earlier films did not have as a smooth going with the censors as he would have preferred, according to circles close to him. The Hindi version ‘Raavan’ is going to the censors today (June 4).

Meanwhile reports quoting Abhishek Bachchan read ‘Raavan will have its world premiere on the 16th of June in London’. Aishwarya Rai, Abhishek Bachchan, Vikram and Mani Ratnam will attend the gala premiere in London.

Sources say the Tamil version will have no premiere of any sort before its release and the first look of the film can be had only at the theatres. Usually Mani’s film will have some charity premieres along with the official release. The much awaited movie of this year will be released on June 18.
